Day 1

Day 2

Welcome to Frankfurt and begin on your journey to Rudesheim, a quaint town at the entrance to the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Enjoy your walking tour of Rudesheim and a funicular ride up the wine yards to the Niederwald Memorial, an immense bronze statue that symbolizes the unification of Germany in 1871. It is one of the most famous monuments for German people.

Day 3

Today your adventure begins on the Rhine River as you cruise from Rudesheim to St. Goar to visit the Rheinfels Castle. You will be amazed by the sheer size of the ruins as well as by the labyrinth of trenches and tunnels. Your guided tour will include the medieval courtyards, museums, gardens and tower lookout and of course the prisons and cellars.

Day 4

Early morning departure will have you on your way to Heidelberg to visit the Heidelberg Castle and where the castle ruins are among the most important Renaissance structures north of the Alps. Continue along to Hohenschwangau and your exclusive, after hours visit of Neuschwanstein Castle. Schloss Neuschwanstein, also known as "New Swan Stone Castle", is one of the most beautiful and famous castles in Germany. It was built by King Ludwig II, also known as Mad King Ludwig to replicate medieval architecture and to pay homage to the operas of Wagner. It was also the inspiration for the famous Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland. Your day will end in Munich. This charming 800-yearold city is the capital of Bavaria and the home of the world-famous Oktoberfest, the Alte Pinakotheken art museum, the Marienplatz, world famous Hofbräuhaus, and the National Theater with the Royal Palace.

Day 5

Depart early this morning for Dachau. Tour the Memorial site where this concentration camp was the first Nazi concentration camp opened in Germany, located on the grounds of an abandoned munitions factory near the medieval town of Dachau. Dachau served as a prototype and model for the other Nazi concentration camps that followed during the war. The number of prisoners incarcerated in Dachau between 1933 and 1945 exceeded 188,000. Return to Munich for a guided city tour.

Day 6

Your travels continue today along the Romantic Road to Augsburg and to Noerdlingen. Nördlingen is a town that is located in the middle of a giant meteorite crater, called the Nördlinger Ries. The town was also the place of two battles during the Thirty Years' War and today it is one of only three towns in Germany that still has a completely established city wall.

Day 7

Begin your day with a ride to Nuremberg, another city burdened by the legacy of the Nazis and although bombed to rubble in WWII, the medieval city center with its main buildings had been reconstructed, using the original stone. Today Nuremberg is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. Tour the Imperial Castle Kaiserburg, visit the residential quarters, the Knights Halls, Romanesque chapel, the Deep Well and the Sinwell Tower, which can be climbed and the castle museum. Continue your travels to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, with its Fantastic Gothic and Baroque architecture and located on a plateau overlooking the Tauber river. Enjoy your guided city tour and the rest of the day exploring Rothenburg.

Day 8

Travel north along the Romantic Road to Wurzburg, with its wonderful Baroque masterpiece, and visit the Residenz Palace, another UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. See the Wurzburg market square and the late Gothic Church of St. Mary and next to it the Falkenhaus with its beautiful Rococo facade. Another highlight is the four towered Wurzburg Cathedral St.Kilian, which is one of the largest Romanesque churches in Germany and one of the great attractions of Wurzburg in Germany.

Day 9

Today you will visit the town of Bamberg, A thousand-year cultural and architectural site, UNESCO declared Bamberg a world heritage city in 1976. It is a beautiful town with unforgettable small and winding alleys with picturesque views on every corner, a perfect place to end your German experience.
