Day 1- Overnight flight to Paris.
Day 2- Bonjour!
Your journey begins today in Paris. Start by exploring this amazing “city of lights”
with a city bus tour to include all the famous sights. Transfer to hotel and after a short break take
a walk to familiarize yourself with your new neighborhood. Then enjoy the rest of your day on a
walking tour of Montmartre. Don't forget your camera! Enjoy dinner - your first real French
cuisine.
Day 3
This morning enjoy your guided tour of the Louvre, with a large collection of sculptures
and paintings including the famous Mona Lisa. In the afternoon venture to Versailles to tour the
lavish palace of Louis XIV. You will see the Royal Chambers, Hall of Mirrors, drawing rooms, and
the Royal Chapel.
DAY 4
In the morning visit the Musée d'Orsay. This fabulous museum is housed in the former
railway station, the Gare d'Orsay, an impressive Beaux-Arts edifice built between 1898 and 1900.
It holds mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1915, including its extensive collection of
impressionist masterpieces by such painters such as Monet, Degas, Renoir, and Cezanne. Later
that morning transfer to Marne-la-Valle en route to Euro Disney. With two theme parks, a retail,
dinning and entertainment district, Euro Disney is one of the continents leading tourist
destinations. Dinner on own.
DAY 5
Today travel to the beautiful provencal city of Avignon, which was for centuries one of the
major artistic centers of France. Located on the banks of the River Rhône, this medieval city is
dominated by the incredible Pope's Palace. Tour the Palace with its city center and ancient walls.
Be sure to take time and relax in the Parc Rochers des Doms. Continue your journey to the quaint
village of Arles, designated as a UNESCO heritage site.
DAY 6
Your day will begin with a guided tour of Arles. See the Roman ruins of the theater and
the Roman Arena, where 2000 years ago gladiators fought and today it is still used as a sporting
arena. Enjoy ice cream in the Forum Square and be sure to have a treat in the bright yellow cafe
also know as the Cafe Van Gogh - where Van Gogh was inspired for his famous painting. Walk in
the footsteps of Van Gogh where he painted 200 canvases in 15 months and where he reportedly
cut off his lobe in a fight with his fellow artist, Paul Gauguin.
DAY 7
From Arles, continue with a short trip to Carcassone, one of the most perfectly preserved
walled towns of the world. It is also the largest walled city in Europe as it encompasses towers,
dungeons, moats and drawbridges, which serve as one of the most impressive examples of
medieval France. A local guide will introduce you to Chateau Comtal, the Bell Tower and the
Cathedral of St. Michael with its fantastic views and photo opportunities.
DAY 8
Today you travel west and across the french border to Figueres, Spain. Figueres is the
birthplace of the famous artist Salvador Dali (1904-1989), and houses the Dalí Theatre-Museum,
the largest surrealistic object in the world, which still occupies the building of the former Municipal
Theatre. After an amazing tour that you will surely never forget, you will transfer to Barcelona and
to your centrally located hotel. Join your tour director for a walk on La Rambla.
DAY 9
Join your tour director on a guided city tour with a visit to Mercat de sant Josep - La
Boqueria, the famous food market of Barcelona. Also explore the historic quarter of Barcelona -
the Gothic Quarter. This area is full of fascinating architecture including Barcelona Cathedral and
the remains of the Roman walls, Gaudi's Park Guell and Sagrada Familia. In this area you will
see the neighborhoods in which the great painters Picasso and Miro grew up. Later, enjoy an
original Spanish dinner to taste the Catalan specialties.
DAY 10
Your tour ends today with a visit to the Picasso Museum, which houses one of the most
extensive collections by the 20th century painter. Later that afternoon take some time to relax in
the city to explore the shops and eateries of La Rambla. Barcelona's old city is, without doubt,
one of the finest of Southern Europe. This wide boulevard connects the Place de Catalunya, a
busy square, to the Monument a Colom, a tall column erected in honor of Christopher Columbus.
